Thank you. And congratulations!
Our thanks for buying your new speakers from TSC. We sincerely appreciate your confidence in
us and our products.
Please read this Owner’s Manual! It contains many tips on getting your new speakers set up,
connected, and sounding as good as they should. We hope you find it clear, concise, and
helpful.
Again, thank you.
Out Of The Box
You should save the carton and the inserts your speakers came in. You may need to store or
ship your TSC speakers in the future and the packaging is designed to protect them from
damage.
Where Should You Put Them?
Subwoofer: The MM51.6 subwoofer can go almost anywhere around your computer/multimedia
source. The only limitations are:
The cable length between the subwoofer module and the wired remote controller.
The Infrared remote controller needs line-of-sight access to the subwoofer module in
order to establish the communications link that will let you use the wireless Infrared
controller.
Satellite Speakers: These can be placed in any convenient location. The only limitation is the
length of the wire that connects them to the subwoofer module. For computer use, the front Left,
and Right speakers should flank your video monitor while the Center Channel Speaker should be
as close to the monitor as possible. The two Surround speakers should be placed behind and to
either side of the user.
Connecting And Using Your tSc MM51.6 Multimedia Speaker System
Connect the satellite speakers to the appropriate speaker outputs on the rear of the
subwoofer module. (Note that you’ll be connecting five (5) satellites for surround sound
reproduction.)
Begin with the Left Front speaker
o
o
Find the red (positive or “+”) and black (negative or “-“) speaker terminals. .
Insert the Left Front speaker wire’s positive conductor (usually blue or white) into the
recess of the Left Front channel’s red terminal by pressing the red tab down, inserting
the wire, and then releasing the tab.
o
Insert the Left Front speaker wire’s negative conductor (usually black) into the recess
of the Left Front channel’s black terminal by pressing the black tab down, inserting
the wire, and then releasing the tab.
Repeat these steps for the Center channel using the wire from the satellite you will use as the
Center channel speaker. (Note that the Center channel’s positive terminal is blue.)
Repeat these steps for the Right Front channel using the wire from the satellite you will use
as the Right Front speaker. (Note that the Right Front channel’s positive terminal is red.)

Repeat these steps for the Left Surround channel using the wire from the satellite you will use
as the Left Surround speaker. (Note that the Left Surround channel’s positive terminal is
tan.)
Repeat these steps for the Right Surround channel using the wire from the satellite you will
use as the Right Surround speaker. (Note that the Right Surround channel’s positive terminal
is tan.)
Connect a 5.1 channel surround source (DVD player, game console, etc.) to the three (3) 3.5
mm stereo mini-plugs on the subwoofer module’s rear panel marked Front Right/Left, Rear
Right/Left, and Subwoofer/Center).
Connect a 2 channel stereo source (computer, portable media player, etc.) to the 3.5 mm
stereo mini-plug on the wired remote controller. (Note: You can also connect a two channel
source to the Front Right/Left 3.5 mm stereo mini-plug on the subwoofer module. However,
this will make that plug unusable for a 5.1 source.)
If desired, connect headphones to the 3.5 mm stereo mini-plug headphone plug on the wired
remote. (Connecting headphones will mute the speakers.)
Plug the AC cord from the subwoofer module’s rear panel into a 110v wall plug.
Turn your source and the tSc MM51.6 speaker system on.
Enjoy the sound.
Care
Your TSC speakers don’t need much maintenance. Dust them occasionally.
Above all, enjoy! That’s what your TSC speakers were designed for and why we take such pride
in bringing them to you!
